The Costa Cálida — literally the "warm coast" — is the 250km stretch of Murcian coastline running from the Mar Menor in the north down to Águilas on the border with Almería. Its name is earned: sheltered by mountains and warmed by the Mar Menor's shallow lagoon, it enjoys one of the mildest year-round climates in mainland Europe, with sea temperatures swimmable for much of the year.
For overseas buyers the Costa Cálida is best known for value. The coast divides into clear zones.
